State and local authorities ease the requirements of entry
FOR TRAVELERS WITH A STOPOVER OR TRANSIT IN THE UNITED STATES
ALL TRAVELERS: Tests are maintained
- For all travelers (vaccinated or not) flying through the United States must comply with U.S. entry requirements. Therefore, for all travelers aged 2 years and older, in transit or on a stopover in the United States, it is still mandatory to perform an antigen test (or RT-PCR) less than 24 hours prior to departure (the day before or the day of departure).
- Full vaccination: comply with the most restrictive regulations in effect between the traveler’s final destination and transit country.
UNVACCINATED TRAVELERS: declaration of compelling reasons no longer required (except in the orange zone)
- The declaration of compelling reasons will be removed for travelers aged 12 years and older who are unvaccinated or who have an incomplete vaccination schedule.
- Minors under 12 years of age are also exempt from declaring a compelling reason.
- However, unvaccinated travelers traveling between French Polynesia and countries classified in the orange zone (in both directions) are still subject to a declaration of compelling reasons controlled by the airlines company upon boarding.
REMINDER: On departure from French Polynesia, travelers must comply with their country’s entry restrictions and be tested in some cases.

UNVACCINATED TRAVELERS: Tests are maintained and the declaration of compelling reasons no longer required (except in the orange zone)
- Unvaccinated travelers over 12 years of age coming from a country classified in green or orange zone and going to French Polynesia will have to perform an RT-PCR test less than 72 hours or an antigen test in less than 48 hours prior to departure.
- The declaration of compelling reasons will be removed for travelers aged 12 years and older who are unvaccinated or who have an incomplete vaccination schedule.
- Minors under 12 years of age are also exempt from declaring a compelling reason and from testing under French regulations.
